It has become a spot for international sporting events, such as the cycle road for the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.
It was one of the few events at the Olympics that was held in Shizuoka Prefecture, and it was one of the few events that was held with an audience.
Races are held every year at the same time
Since the race is held at the same time every year, it is no longer one of my own seasonal events like Valentine's Day or Christmas.

Especially in 2011, when the Great East Japan Earthquake struck, and in 2021, when the race was held for spectators, I felt a sense that normalcy had returned little by little, and it touched my heart.

Camping and BBQ are allowed, so I think it is a good idea to check the spectator rules for each race and spend your time as you wish.

It can be reached quickly from Tokyo via the Tomei Expressway.
By train or bus, shuttle buses are available from Shin-Matsuda and Kaisei Stations on the Odakyu Line or from Gotemba Station.
Be sure to check the schedule, as the number may be small except when a race is being held.
Personally, I recommend taking the Romance Car from Shinjuku to Gotemba Station and then taking the shuttle bus.

UV-protection goods
Also, since it is outdoors, plastic sheets, hats, and UV-protective goods are essential.
However, depending on the location and time in the circuit, the temperature can vary greatly, so it is recommended that you bring clothing that can adjust to the temperature even in summer.
During a race in May, it is sometimes possible to wear short sleeves in the morning, but a heavy sweatshirt is essential in the afternoon.

In particular, the SUPER GT race in May must be crowded because the race attracts more than 50,000 people.
